The All-Region Festival and Clinic started as part of the Austin Music Education Coalition in 2016 as a way for teachers at smaller schools to share with and learn from each other. We now provide both a band and orchestra track and bring in guest artist teachers and conductors to work with more than 150 students every year.

We had a very busy last several days at Austin Soundwaves, including visits and concerts with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, partner schools, and Mariachi Para Todos. We love the chance to get out into the community and share the beautiful music-making that happens in our arts-rich city!

Our small but mighty organization was founded October 17, 2011 on the belief that more opportunities to learn music are needed in our community. And more importantly that those opportunities are both accessible and equitable - truly we envision a world without barriers to music education.

Students from our school partnership program, East Austin College Prep, spent the afternoon at The University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music earlier this week. They got a chance to visit again with composer Clarice Assad (who presented a class at EA Prep earlier this past spring) and watched the amazing UT Symphony Orchestra rehearse the world premiere of Clarice Assad’s new work entitled, Baião ’n Blues.
