East Austin College Prep Fall Concert

Last week our students at East Austin College Prep performed at their fall concert, entitled Mermaids, Dragons, Stars, and More. The performances featured our beginning, intermediate, and advanced orchestras. Some of the pieces performed included Dragon Slayer, A Danny Elfman Spooktacular, and selections from The Little Mermaid. We were joined in the audience by parents, friends, and family as we enjoyed the fruits of the hard work that our students put in so far this fall.

Shout out to interim orchestra director Meredith McAlmon and our team of Austin Soundwaves teaching artists (Meagan Peaco, Rohan Joshi, Matthew Gustafson, Angie Armagnac) for raising up the next generation of musicians!

Austin Soundwaves has provided music education programming at EA Prep since 2011 as part of our school partnership work. Using our Equity in Music Education Framework, we focus on systems-level change by planning with school leaders, teaching and mentoring students, and coaching music teachers.
